New Travels

It seems like forever since my last International Travel, but I have my flight and rooms booked for Europe. Yes, looks like I will be adding another continent and two countries to my passport. I'm going to London and then La Coruna, Spain to present at a conference. That makes Japan, China, Australia, Canada and now UK and Spain. Now I just need a trip to South America, Africa and Antarctica and I will have stepped foot on all 7 Continents (not that I think I will ever make it to Antarctica). I am also designing another coaching study that I am hoping will allow me to go the 2012 Olympics in London so this trip can be a way to scope out the area!

Travel Experiences

I created this blog to keep everyone updated with my travel experiences as I collect data on the development of expertise within coaching and present those findings. I presented findings from interviews and observations of Bobby Bowden and Tommy Bowden at AIESEP in Sapporo, Japan and at AAHPERD in Fort Worth, Texas in the Winter/Spring of 2008. I have attended Sport Steering Committee meetings in Washington, D.C. for the National Association for Sport and Physical Education. A trip to Beijing China for the Olympics in 2008 allowed me to collect data for a research project on self-presentation strategies of the Men's and Women's USA Olympic Swimming Coaches (Eddie Reese and Jack Bauerle). I had the opportunity to present coaching education research to faculty at Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia and guest lecture on Expertise in Coaching. Presentations in Vancouver, BC, Canada prior to the Olypmic games provided enromous insight into current coaching education practices and I am looking forward to the possibility of presenting in Spain fall of 2010. I have plenty of pictures at the bottom of this blog showing my travels, so enjoy!
